Save on high-power appliances
The trick to saving on Agile is simple: move your hungriest appliances into the cheapest window. Step one is knowing what each of them actually uses:

What does that save in practice?
The sums below use 30p/kWh at the peak against 15p/kWh overnight — a 15p gap per kWh. Treat that as a round number to make the arithmetic legible, not a promise: the real spread moves day to day and region to region, and on plenty of days it is a good deal narrower. The front page shows today's actual high and low for where you live.
- Dishwasher: one 1.2 kWh load a day × 15p = 18p a load, about £65/year over 365 days
- Washing + drying: 4 loads a week, 3 kWh each including the dryer × 15p = 45p a load, about £94/year over 52 weeks
- EV: two 28 kWh charges a week × 15p = £4.20 a charge, about £437/year
No lifestyle change — just a different start time. A narrower gap scales all three figures down in proportion.
How to make it effortless
- Use the delay timer: most washing machines and dishwashers have a delay-start function. Set it before bed and the cycle runs in the cheapest small hours.

- Avoid 4–7pm: the golden rule — never dry clothes or charge the car during the evening peak.
A note on safety
Manufacturers advise running dryers and washing machines while someone is home and awake. Weigh the risk of overnight running yourself — or pick an early-morning slot, which is often just as cheap (4–7am).
